新規Bradbury-Nielsen Ion Gateを用いた芳香族多価分子カチオンの反応追跡

Quadruply charged hexafluorobenzene and triply charged benzene molecular cations were produced in the femtosecond laser fields. We conclude that the difference of the highest charge for each molecular cation is attributed to their binding energies and charge distributions. Post-source decay spectra of C6F6z+ (z = 1–4) and C6H6z+ (z = 1–3) were measured by using the time-of-flight mass spectrometer equipped with newly constructed Bradbury-Nielsen ion gate (BNG) and curved-field reflectron. The gate function of our BNG was 36 ns (fwhm) in width, and the rise and fall times were 5 ns. Post-source decay was not observed for both molecules, and therefore the lifetimes were estimated to be more than 10 μs for C6F64+ and 7 μs for C6H63+.
