In this study, we developed a transportable and simple TOF MS system which includes all integral parts in a compact cylindrical metal cavity and introduced it to femtosecond laser ionization research to improve mass spectrometry performance. Based on the outcome of particle trajectory tracing and theoretical simulations, the ionization signal is optimized to obtain tailored femtosecond pulses using prism compensation technique to observe the reaction of the sample under different pulse durations.
