Here we apply an untargeted mass spectrometry-based metabolomics approach by imaging mass spectrometry in combination with UMAP method. The current protocol enabled to visualize differences in broad array of metabolites across anatomical regions of the mouse brain. This study yields important platform of metabolomics phenotyping of the mouse brain by defining regional homeostasis for the normal mouse brain to give context to the reaction to brain tumor as well as boron neutron capture therapy.
