Recently, biomarker research is one of the most essential research fields for drug discovery and development. Various studies have been conducted to discover biomarkers using technologies such as transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Metabolomics is very useful tool for understanding biological functions and processes because of its high relationship to disease and therapeutic phenotype. Chronic kidney disease has a long disease duration and requires early diagnostic markers. In this study, we performed metabolomics analysis using several animal models of renal injury to search for new biomarkers and examined the effect of aging as a disease background factors.
