We have developed a novel transfer plate for expanded applications of mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). A preparation of MSI is just completed by transferring sample components to the plate, therefore, neither section samples nor sprayed matrix which are general MSI preparation techniques is required. We have demonstrated a potential to obtain MS images of azalea leaf components on the transfer plate, indicating the transfer plate enables to measure MSI of samples whose it is difficult to obtain a microtome section.
