Developing a new system to detect cancer-derived substances directly without any preparation is needed due to differences in human resources in each hospital. Breast cancer samples and 7 other frozen breast cancer tissues (T) and noncancerous tissues (N) were directly blotted to a novel transfer plate (Hamamatsu Photonics K.K.). We found several m/z peaks which showed significantly stronger intensity in T than N by the novel transfer plate aided-negative LDI-MS imaging. Furthermore, these m/z were showed reproducibly in all cancer tissue but limit detection in N. The combination m/z we found by using a novel transfer plate, may be useful for early detection and rapid diagnosis of breast cancer.
