メタボリック・プロファイリング法を用いた緑茶の抗糖尿病成分の解析
The inhibition of dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-IV enzyme plays an essential role in controlling hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus. Although green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) has been reported to possess the DPP-IV inhibitory activity, there are no reports of the comparison among green tea cultivars or the identification of their active components. We have reported that metabolic profiling (MP) technique, which visualizes the potential relationship between the amount of samples and their bioactivity, is effective in assessing the functionality of foods/agricultural products and identifying the components involved in the functionality. However, there is no report on MP-driven bioactivity evaluation of green tea cultivars related to the DPP-IV inhibitory activity. Here, we evaluated the DPP-IV inhibitory activity of 43 green tea cultivars and found the bioactivity-related components and combinations by using MP technique.
