パルスナノエレクトロスプレーイオン化によるペプチド混合試料の質量分析

Ionization methods are extremely important for mass spectrometry. One of the ionization methods is the electrospray ionization (ESI), and research and development on the ESI and related methods such as nano ESI (nESI) have been carried out so far. In our laboratory, we have studied mass spectrometry using a pulsed nESI method and reported unique characteristics of the mass spectra for the protein and peptide mixture samples. An acupuncture needle was inserted into a noncoated glass capillary with the tip inner diameter of 5 μm, and it was used as a nESI or pulsed nESI source. In this study, we will report the differences of the ionization processes between the nESI and pulsed-nESI methods.
