硫黄の熱分解で発生する揮発性物質の質量分析

When sulfur is heated, sulfur changes from a yellow solid to a yellow liquid, a red viscous and a red black liquid. It has been known that the eight-membered ring structure is broken and polymerization occurs. But the structures of sulfur polymers are unknown. In this study, to estimate the sulfur structures, volatile products from heated sulfur were analyzed using an atmospheric pressure corona discharge ionization (APCDI) and a laser desorption ionization (LDI). In the process from a red viscous to a red black liquid, detected ions changed from S3- to HSO4- at APCDI. However, in the process from a yellow liquid to a red viscous, detected ions were S3- in APCDI and LDI.
