GC×GC–ToFMS による天然有機ハロゲン化合物の網羅的スクリーニング
We screened bioaccumulative organohalogen compounds in mussels from Seto Inland Sea using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography–time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC–ToFMS). In addition to anthropogenic hazardous substances such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs), various POP-like natural halogen compounds were detected in all the mussel samples analyzed in this study. Interestingly, methoxylated polybrominated diphenyl ethers, polybrominated indoles and their derivatives, which are suspected as marine algal toxins, highly accumulated in the mussel tissues. These findings suggest that bivalves from Seto Inland Sea are chronically exposed to not only anthropogenic POPs but also bioaccumulative natural organohalogen compounds.
