Investigation of the difference and degree of EI mass spectra obtained by helium carrier and alternative carrier GC-MS
The scarcity and high price of helium has increased the demand for GC-MS using alternative gases. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the degree of matching between mass spectra obtained with alternative carriers (hydrogen, nitrogen and argon) and that obtained with helium carrier. As a result, the mass spectrum with the highest agreement with helium was obtained when the dedicated ion source was used for the hydrogen carrier.
