Here we apply an untargeted mass spectrometry-based metabolomics approach by imaging mass spectrometry in combination with UMAP method. This protocol enabled to visualize differences in broad array of metabolites in anatomical regions of the whole brain of brain tumor transplanted mice before and after boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). This study yields important platform for metabolomics phenotyping of whole brain of brain tumor transplanted mice by defining regional homeostasis for the brain tumors to give context to the reaction to BNCT. Three-dimensional whole brain imaging will expand the possibilities for understanding the state of the brain.
