Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) combined with mass spectrometry (MS) has been established as a major structural measurement method. However, for larger ions which are difficult to be detected by MS, IMS is still insufficient in terms of sensitivity and resolution. To extend the potential of IMS, we have been working on IMS combined with ion traps. Here we present IMS system combined with charge detectors, regulated gas flow, and microscopy. With the system, investigation of ionization processes of electrospray ionization was performed.
