A transfer plate enables to measure mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) without sample-sectioning and matrix-spraying. However, the transfer plate in combination with MALDI-matrix is also useful for the MSI measurement with soft-ionization required. We demonstrated MSI analysis for the cross-section of a strawberry and discussed the difference of MS images between with- and without-matrix.
