In recent years, the issue of waste has become an important issue from the perspective of resources and energy, and we are shifting from the conventional mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal society to a recycling society through the reduction, reuse, and recycling of plastic waste. Companies are also required to consider the environment in all product lifecycles from procurement of raw materials to final disposal. However, recycled plastic materials cause various problems such as product defects during molding, odors from defective products, mold corrosion. A detailed analysis methods to find minor differences between Virgin and Recycled material is important for an investigation of the causes of these problems.
In this study, we used a gas chromatograph time-of-flight mass spectrometer (Gas Chromatography Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer), which enables high-sensitivity analysis as an analytical instrument and ChromaTOF Sync (LECO) that is comparison software for a characterization of each material.
