Human blood metabolites are accumulated into hair. The metabolites in the hair reflects the time-averaged composition in the blood circulation. Therefore, the analysis of the metabolites in the hair allows to assess human health. It has become increasingly important to establish a rapid and comprehensive analytical method of its metabolites for the assessment. In this study, we developed the LC/MS coupled with ion mobility for the analytical method for targeted quantitative and non-targeted qualitative analysis simultaneously. In addition, laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging was also applied for the metabolite profiling.
