The Use of High-Throughput Mass Spectrometry in Drug Discovery Applications
Mass Spectrometry has become a routine method for the screening of large chemical libraries in both functional and binding assays. This presentation will review many different established and emerging techniques for the application of MS to HTS with a particular emphasis on the Agilent RapidFire platform. New applications of the RapidFire platform will be discussed including the quantitative measurement of biomarkers from biological samples together with RapidFire Blaze mode which provides throughput approaching 2 seconds per sample for certain assays. Lastly approaches for both covalent and non-covalent protein or RNA binding assays on the RapidFire and 2D-UHPLC platforms will be presented.
