Quantitative Targeted Proteomics based Research on the Drug Discovery and Developments

(Proteomedix F)
oTetsuya Terasaki

One of the most important subjects for successful drug discovery and development is to find a rational strategy bridging the significant gap between non-clinical and clinical research. As proteins regulate the cellular function, it is crucial to know their intrinsic activity, expression amounts and localization in the organ. An in-silico design algorithm for an appropriate peptide in the LC-MS/MS quantification enables us to establish protein quantification method in the absence of the protein to be quantified. In the past 10 years, there have been significant progress in the pharmacoproteomics, i.e., quantitative targeted absolute proteomic (QTAP) based research. QTAP should have many potential applications to solving difficult subjects in the drug discovery and development.
