Spatial Tissue SWATH-MS Analysis Reveals Intra-tumor Heterogeneity in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
We performed spatial tissue SWATH-MS analysis of oral squamous cell carcinomas (SCC/CIS), defined proteomics features that distinguish tumor from the lateral interfaces of normal tissue (ND) sensitively, such as significant decreased abundance of Mucin-21 and Alph-2-macroglobulin like 1 protein in oral SCC/CIS, on the other hand, Hsp110 and Tenascin decreased in ND. Proteins were quantitatively distinguished in ND and SCC/CIS segments, which with significant decreased protein quantitative value respectively, these molecules should be involved in the top list of candidates toward cell competition in oral SCC/CIS and should be new histopathological targets for distinction of oral malignancies in future.
