Characterization of organic industrial materials by SALDI-MS using a “through hole alumina membrane" (DIUTHAME) as active substrate (2): Structural analysis of poly(ethylene oxide)-based materials based on specific fragment ions.
Poly(ethylene oxide)-based polymers were analyzed by a novel matrix-free laser desorption/ionization method named “Desorption Ionization Using Through Hole Alumina Membrane” (DIUTHAME). Specific fragment ions were observed depending on a measurement condition, which can be a good clue to characterize terminal structures. Fragmentation of PEO compounds by DIUTHAME was compared with those by ESI-CID-MS/MS.
