Analysis of Silicone by Thermal Desorption and Pyrolysis Combined with DART-MS (TDP/DART-MS)
Many of the silicone materials used as cosmetic materials have a unique structure, which greatly contributes to higher function and higher feeling of cosmetics. Since the silicone raw material has a complicated structure, it is not easy to analyze the actual structure. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to evaluate equivalence for each lot from structural information. We investigated a method to visualize the elemental composition distribution of silicone raw material having complicated structure using Thermal desorption and pyrolysis combined with direct analysis in real time-mass spectrometry(TDP/DART-MS).
