In Situ proteomics of Kidney from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) Rat using MALDI-Imaging Mass Spectrometry
The development of an experimental animal model with diabetic nephropathy that closely mirrors human disease will significantly enhance our understanding of the nephropathy and accelerate our progress toward more effective treatments.In this investigation, we adopt ultra-high speed matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) coupled with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis in an integrated workflow to study proteomic alteration of diabetic nephropathy reproduced on kidneys from model rats.
