Development of in-line sample processing system for single cell shotgun proteomics with a fused-silica capillary tube
Single cell analysis has been of interest to researchers, because even genetically- and environmentally-identical cells can express different phenotypes, which derive from differences in the cell age and cell cycle stage, and stochastic fluctuations in a biological context. For cancer, it is suggested that the heterogeneous cell population, present in the tumor, is related to cancer development and drug resistance. Therefore, single cell proteome analysis can support elucidation of the mechanism of cancer development and discovery of therapeutic strategies. In the present study, we developed in-line sample preparation method with a fused-silica capillary tube, which enables single cell shotgun proteome analysis.
