PASEF on timsTOF PRO - The Bringer of New Era in Deeper Shotgun Proteomics with Speed
Proteomics is a research field targeting truly complicated mixture of proteins with huge dynamic range. Various methodologies were developed to reach the goal.
Shotgun approach would be apparently the most widely used method among them. But it increases the number of analytical target molecules by 2-3 orders due to its strategy of enzymatic treatment. To reduce this issue, many instruments and/or acquisition methods were developed for both sensitivity and speed.
Here we introduce a totally new approach in shotgun proteomics – PASEF, Parallel Accumulation-SErial Fragmentation. PASEF is not only a method but also highly linked with a specialized instrument, Bruker’s timsTOF PRO.
In this presentation, we would like to introduce a detailed information of PASEF and timsTOF PRO, as well as unparalleled deep shotgun proteomics recently achieved by PASEF on timsTOF PRO.
