Improvement of ion suppression by trifluoroacetic acid using the desalination tube
Because improvement of the retention and high ability for separation, trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is often added in a mobile phase solvent for HPLC analyses. However, it is well known to suppress the ionization of the analyte by TFA because the acidity of TFA is too high. Therefore we developed a desalination tube to improve ionization by converting TFA into weak acid using ion-exchange resin.
