Quantitative analysis of central metabolism using mass spectrometry

(Osaka Univ.)
oFumio Matsuda

Mass spectrometry-based methods for quantitative evaluation of the central metabolism were developed by taking an advantage of mass spectrometry including targeted proteome analysis, absolute quantification of intracellular metabolic intermediates, and 13C-based metabolic flux analysis. These methodologies were applied for analyses of microbial cell factories and cancer cells to investigate metabolic bottlenecks in the metabolic networks and metabolic rewiring mechanisms to maintain a metabolic homeostasis.
