Elucidation of the mechanisms of ``Matrix Effect'' on ESI ~Evaluation of ‘'desorption'' processes of amino acid mixtures from solvent droplets~
The goal of this study was to elucidate the mechanisms of ‘’matrix effect ‘’ to overcome/control its negative influences on ESI measurements. We examined the influence of a matrix molecules on ESI intensity of analytes in simple model systems. Mixtures of two amino acids having different hydrophobicities were analyzed by flow-injection LC/MS. It was found that the ESI signal intensity of analyte was enhanced or suppressed depending on the hydrophobicities of matrix molecules.
