“Difference" tells of the World of Mass
The research interests and discovery in mass spectrometry have been described from the standpoint of “difference” in phenomenon. When the mass of atoms and molecules is selected as a phenomenon, the difference in mass (Δm) presents us the information regarding new substances, chemical structures and some rules such as nitrogen rule. More several examples, which “difference” plays important roles in mass spectrometry, will be presented by citing historical facts and discoveries.
