COMPREHENSIVE AND HIGH-THROUGHPUT PLASMA PROTEOME PROFILING FOR BIOMARKER DISCOVERY USING A MODIFIED THERMO SCIENTIFIC™ ORBITRAP™ ASTRAL™ MASS SPECTROMETER
(1Thermo Fisher Scientific San Jose, 2Thermo Fisher Scientific Singapore)
Jared Deyarmin1, oNicole Zhang2
Plasma proteomics is vital for biomarker discovery and clinical research due to its easy collection and potential for new insights. Plasma, rich in signaling molecules and diseased tissue materials, aids in disease diagnosis, health monitoring, and precision medicine. Mass spectrometry enables direct, unbiased analysis of thousands of plasma proteins. However, the complexity and wide range of protein concentrations, spanning 12 orders of magnitude, pose challenges for low-abundance protein detection. To enhance plasma protein analysis and proteome coverage, advancements in sample preparation and mass spectrometry techniques are necessary. Here, we present the performance of neat, depleted, and Seer's Proteograph™ workflow prepared plasma using 100, 60, and 24 samples per day (SPD) throughputs on a modified Thermo Scientific™ Orbitrap™ Astral™ mass spectrometer.
