Geochemical observations are not widely used for volcano observation due to the complexity of sampling methods, the danger of collecting samples in the vicinity of fumaroles, and the difficulty in preparing analytical equipment. Constant observations of volatile component's isotope ratios in fumaroles and hot spring water are a useful technique for evaluating the threat of volcanic eruptions, but the sampling effort must be reduced, and the frequency of observations must be increased before the method can be used more widely. We used a portable multi-turn TOF-MS (MSI. TOKYO, KANOMAX JAPAN INC.) to achieve the requirement. Noble gas measurements require an ultra-high vacuum preparation line to remove active gases and separate noble gas elements. In this study, we aim to reduce the sizes and weight of the equipment, including the preparation line, and to put it to practical use as a portable analyzer.
