The ITbM Molecular Structure Center at Nagoya University has facilities to acquire proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics data. We are working on integrating the obtained multi-omics data and acquiring analysis to understand various biological phenomena. We used mesothelioma cells as a model for multi-omics analysis and integrated proteomics and lipidomics data to obtain comprehensive knowledge.
From the mesothelioma cells, 8,212 proteins, 10,575 phosphorylated peptides, and 539 lipids were identified. By displaying lipid and protein omics data in pathway maps, we were able to obtain a comprehensive view of the lipids and proteins reported to be related to cancer invasion and metastasis, cell adhesion, and immune responses.
