Development of a Combined Thermal and Laser Desorption Mass Spectrometry Approach for On-site Drug Detection
(NSYSU)
oChun Wu, Min Huang, Chi Lee, Jentaie Shiea
The issue of drug abuse has become increasingly severe worldwide. Although excellent sensitivity and specificity have been demonstrated by existing analytical methods such as EIA, GC-MS/MS, and LC-MS/MS, their real-time application has been limited by complicated sample preparation, lengthy analysis, and invasive blood or urine collection. A novel breath sampling device integrated with alcohol testing was developed in this study. Drugs including caffeine, paraxanthine, acetaminophen, and bupropion were successfully detected through TD and LD electrospray ionization, significantly enhancing on-site drug and alcohol screening efficiency for law enforcement.
