In general, capturing the components contained in leaves from a surface requires special equipment and advanced technology using mass spectrometry imaging. However, by performing MSI using a combination of transfer plates (Poropare^TM, Hamamatsu Photonics) and imaging mass microscopy (iMScope^TM QT, Shimadzu Corporation), we were able to clearly demonstrate the distribution of multiple components. For the components for which good MS/MS spectra were obtained, we attempted to identify them based on component estimation using LabSolutions Insight Explore^TM (Shimadzu Corporation), and will report on these details.
