In mass spectrometry, the Electron Activated Dissociation (EAD) is a technique that causes dissociation based on a principle different from conventional Collision Induced Dissociation (CID), and has the potential to analyze the structure of compounds that have been difficult to date. The positions and mode in which glycans bind are complex, and by knowing the detailed structure, it is expected that we will be able to understand the functions rolled by glycans in various fields. Dissociation by CID results in the dissociation of hydroxyl groups and glycosidic bonds, and it is difficult to understand the detailed structure. This time, we will report a detailed analysis of glycans binding using the EAD technique.
