LC-MS/MSを用いた血中ジギタリス由来中毒物質の測定

Digitalis is similar in appearance to an edible wildflower, and poisoning by accidental ingestion has been reported. Digitalis contains toxins (inotropic glycoside) called digitalis toxin, which can cause poisoning symptoms. The detection of digitalis toxins is necessary to confirm the diagnosis of digitalis poisoning. In this study, we report on the measurement of digitalis toxins in the serum of a patient suspected of digitalis toxicity using LC-MS/MS. Sample preparation was performed by solid-phase extraction, and reversed-phase columns were used for LC-MS/MS. Detection was by the selected reaction monitoring (SRM) method in positive ion mode. The result of analysis showed high levels of digitoxin in the patient's serum, supporting the diagnosis of poisoning.
