Lipids play an important role in biological systems. Monitoring blood lipids is therefore a promising approach for early detection of disease and preventive medicine. However, the wide variety of physical properties of lipids makes their extraction and analysis from biological samples complex, hindering the accumulation and application of data. Therefore, we launched the “Intelligent Biomolecular Screening Project for Advanced Healthcare”, aiming to develop an automated lipidomics system with high reproducibility. In this study, we investigated the lipid extraction method from the perspective of automation. As a result, the modified Alshehry method was considered as the best due to its simplicity and efficiency in lipid extraction. The optimized procedure will be incorporated into an automated pre-treatment system for lipidomics to promote the development of advanced healthcare.
