LC/MS用オンライン脱塩チューブを用いたIC/MSへの応用

LC/MS is widely used for both qualitative and quantitative analysis, especially for biological samples such as proteins and drug metabolites, due to its high qualitative ability and detection sensitivity. Phosphate buffer has long been used as a mobile phase in HPLC because of its high separation ability and detection even at low UV wavelengths. However, it is well known that phosphate buffer cannot be used for LC/MS measurements. We have previously developed a desalination tube that uses an ion exchange mechanism to enable on-line LC/MS measurements even under phosphate buffer conditions. This tube can remove various nonvolatile salts in addition to phosphate and additives in the mobile phase that can cause ionization suppression of analyte species. Ion chromatography is a liquid chromatography technique that uses nonvolatile buffer solutions. In this report, we describe the application of this desalination tube to ion chromatography mass spectrometry (IC/MS).
