ダイオキシン類分析におけるGC/MS測定の課題と現状

Japanese official method for measuring dioxins is using double-focusing GC/MS. Currently, two problems exist with the measurement method. One is to cope with the global helium shortages. The author investigated the measurement of dioxins by double-focusing GC/MS using a hydrogen carrier gas, and found that the quantitative results obtained with a sample of known concentration were comparable to those obtained by GC/MS using helium. As a quantification problem, interference by dioxin ions with hydrogen substitution in the dechlorinated position was identified. The second problem is investigation of an alternative instrument to the double-focused GC/MS in dioxin analysis. Results by the author using GC-QTOF demonstrated that the analytical sensitivity of low-concentration standard solutions was slightly lower, but the quantitative results were almost equivalent to double-focusing GC/MS.
