Evolved gas analysis of heat-not-burn tobacco products was performed by soft-Ionization mass spectrometry. Chemical ionization mass spectrometry with lithium ion attachment was able to detect glycerine from tobacco. Emission amount of glycerine from heat-not-burn tobacco products were higher than that from conventional cigarettes. Aromatic compounds in evolved gas from the tobacco products were observed by photoionization mass spectrometry.
