新規ラジカル誘導解離法に用いる低エネルギーラジカルビーム源開発の最前線
We have been developing new radical induced dissociation techniques utilizing electrically neutral radical beams for biomolecular structural analyses. In previous research, thermally cracked atomic hydrogen realized peptide fragmentation preserving post translational modifications in tandem mass spectrometry, however, the thermal atomic source did not have a capability to produce radicals that react to high temperature tungsten. In order to overcome those difficulties, two types of microwave driven radical beam sources have been developed: capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) and locally inductively coupled plasma (LICP). These versatile radical sources will open new approaches of radical attachment/abduction mass spectrometry.
