In general, capturing the components contained in leaves from a surface requires special equipment and advanced technology using mass spectrometry imaging. However, by performing MSI using a combination of transfer plates (PoropareTM, Hamamatsu Photonics) and imaging mass microscopy (iMScopeTM QT, Shimadzu Corporation), we were able to clearly demonstrate the distribution of multiple components. For the components for which good MS/MS spectra were obtained, we attempted to identify them based on component estimation using LabSolutions Insight ExploreTM (Shimadzu Corporation), and will report on these details.
