We analyzed steroids as impurities in supplements using liquid chromatography ion mobility mass spectrometry (LC/IM/MS). As a result, steroids as animal-derived components were detected in the positive ion mode in a supplement. Steroid-like compounds in the negative ion mode. On the other hand, plant-derived supplement contains no steroids. Recently, there have been increasing reports of steroids being detected in food products. In this study, we show the LC/IM/MS is useful for the analysis of steroids and other impurities in the food products.
