Transfer plates, which is a platinum-coated porous plate formed of glass beads, were developed for sample preparation without thin-sectioning in mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). In MSI measurements using sections, various additional preparations are often performed to obtain the desired results. It is useful to be able to perform the same preparations after the transfer process; therefore, it is important that transfer media are sufficiently robust for this purpose. We demonstrated sample preparations utilizing the robustness of the transfer plates such as washing.
