Analysis of the adherents on metal separators for fuel cells were carried out using Pinpoint Concentration Plates, Micro FT-IR, Splitless Pyrolysis-GC/MS, and LESA(liquid extraction surface analysis) nanoESI-MS. We were able to perform a detailed qualitative analysis of oil or cleaning agents equivalent to 50 ng. These methods, which can be applied to both polar and non-polar components, are considered effective for localized surface analysis where a decrease in water repellency or poor conductivity is suspected.
