Conventional collision-induced dissociation (CID)-MS/MS utilizes rare gas or nitrogen molecules as collision gas. Our research group has developed a new radical-induced dissociation (RID)-MS/MS using charge-neutral and highly reactive radical gas instead of collision gas. In this study, we developed a novel LCMS-Q-TOF mass spectrometer employing RID-MS/MS of oxygen attachment dissociation (OAD). OAD-MS/MS, which integrates injection of OH• and atomic O, has made it possible to accomplish the detailed structural analysis of biomolecules.
