Threat of terrorism by explosive and toxic substances are becoming people's concern in the world. So, we have been devoted to develop a high-sensitivity environmental monitor based on Laser Ionization Mass Spectrometry (LIMS) to contribute the social security. In the present study, as a performance test of the device, we conducted an experiment on real-time mass spectrometry of automobile exhaust gas and succeeded in obtaining time-resolved mass spectra of the components.
