A novel method for MS analysis was developed by utilizing “pinpoint concentration plate”, which had been applied to the concentration of a trace amount of sample for micro FT-IR and MALDI-MS. Recently the surface treatment of "pinpoint concentration plate" enabled us to analyze various materials by mass spectrometry without using matrix reagent, namely, SALDI-MS. However, the influence of the surface state of the silicone plate on the sensitivity and resolving power of MS measurement was unclarified. In this study, we tried to reveal the influence of the surface state upon mass spectra, and to optimize the surface treatment condition of the concentration plate.
