Collagen is used for various industrial applications, including biomaterials. Collagen-specific post-translational modifications (PTMs), including 4-hydroxyproline (4-Hyp), 3-Hyp, hydroxylysine (Hyl), and Hyl glycosides, are important parameters potentially affecting physical and chemical properties of collagen. We recently developed several methods for highly sensitive and accurate analysis of collagen PTMs using mass spectrometry. In this presentation, we will introduce our novel analytical methods and findings obtained by the methods.
