Hydrogen fluoride cluster (HF)n forms strong hydrogen-bonded systems and zig-zag structure. The HF clusters have served as important prototypes for researching hydrogen-bonded systems and weak binding interactions between polar molecules. Here we established a system for generating hydrogen atoms (H˙) and hydrogen fluoride (HF) and measured HF related ions using an atmospheric pressure corona discharge ionization mass spectrometer (APCDI MS) and report the formation of negative ion HF clusters O2-(HF)n. The collision-induced dissociation (CID) experiments of negative ion HF clusters are performed to examine hydrogen-boned systems and proton transfer reaction from HF by Y-.
