金属ナノ微粒子をもちいた合成高分子ポリマーと添加剤のイメージング質量分析

Imaging mass spectrometry can be used for biological applications, to assess the distribution of proteins, peptides, lipids, drugs, and their metabolites in a tissue specimen. The technique also has an application potentiality to the material science field. One of the key techniques, which will differ from biological application, is how to apply the compounds to assist ionization uniformly on sample surface. A matrix application using a spray method is commonly used but poor reproducibility occurs due to inhomogeneous matrix crystallization. Furthermore, a matrix compound and a cationization agent are necessary for ionization for synthetic polymer and additives analysis. In this report, we will discuss about availability of the imaging mass spectrometry using metal nano-particles compared to conventional spray method.
